Arthritis
Arthritis is a condition that causes inflammation, stiffness, and pain in one or more joints, most commonly affecting the knees, hips, hands, and spine. It develops when the protective cartilage cushioning the joints wears down over time (osteoarthritis) or when the immune system mistakenly attacks joint tissue (rheumatoid arthritis), leading to swelling and reduced mobility. Over time, this can cause chronic pain, joint stiffness (especially in the morning), reduced range of motion, and difficulty with everyday activities like walking, climbing stairs, or gripping objects. If left untreated, arthritis pain can progressively worsen and significantly impact quality of life. At our pain clinic, we offer targeted, minimally invasive treatments to reduce inflammation, manage pain, and help restore joint function and mobility.
Non Surgical Treatment For Arthritis
Focuses on relieving pain, reducing inflammation, and preserving joint function without the risks and downtime of surgery. Treatment typically begins with lifestyle modifications, weight management, and physiotherapy to strengthen supporting muscles and improve joint mobility. Oral medications and topical anti-inflammatory agents help control pain and swelling in mild to moderate cases. Intra-articular corticosteroid injections are used to provide targeted, fast-acting relief for inflamed joints. Viscosupplementation (hyaluronic acid injections) helps lubricate the joint and improve cushioning, particularly for knee osteoarthritis. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses the patient’s own concentrated platelets, rich in growth factors, to promote natural healing and reduce inflammation within the joint. Regenerative therapies, including PRP and other biologic injections, aim to slow cartilage degeneration and support tissue repair rather than simply masking symptoms. These treatments are minimally invasive, performed under image guidance for precision, and typically involve little to no downtime. Radiofrequency ablation may also be used to disrupt pain signals from affected joints for longer-lasting relief. Together, these approaches offer a comprehensive, personalized care pathway that can delay or even eliminate the need for joint replacement surgery.
